SHAREWARE
HDM, the Hard Disk Menu is the copyrighted property of Jim Hass.
You are granted a limited license to copy and distribute HDM
provided the following conditions are met:
Copying and distribution fees you charge do not include the cost
of registration for the continued use of the Hard Disk Menu. You
can distribute via shareware catalogs, computer shows, bulletin
boards, store racks, CD-ROMs, pre-installed on hard disks, floppy
disks, etc.
HDM may only be distributed in its original unmodified state, but
can be distributed by any method you choose as long as the user
is notified that the registration fee must be paid to the author
after the 30-day trail license has expired.
This software is distributed under the user supported software
concept. Though HDM is copyrighted, you are encouraged to copy
and distribute this program to others. You are granted a 30-day
temporary license to test drive the Hard Disk Menu. After 30 days
a registration fee is required for continued use of HDM or you
must stop using the Hard Disk Menu and remove from your system.
For the $50 registration fee you will receive the current version
of the Hard Disk Menu, the published HDM Users Guide, technical
support, upgrade notices, and additional programs from MicroFox
Company. Network, Site, and Corporate licenses are available.
See the registration and order form, ORDER.DOC, for additional
information. Call for educational discounts and dealer terms.
The author makes no representations or warranties with respect to
the contents hereof and specifically disclaims any implied
warranties of merchantability or fitness for any particular
purpose. Further, the author reserves the right to revise this
publication and to make changes from time to time in the content
hereof without obligation of the author to notify any person or
organization of such revision or changes.
HDM is user supported. This means that you may copy it freely
and give the copies away to anyone you wish. They are in turn
requested to send in a contribution if they decide to use it.
The user supported software concept (also known as "Shareware")
is an attempt to provide quality software at low cost. Both the
user and author benefit from this plan. The user will benefit by
being able to "test drive" software thoroughly before purchasing
it. The author benefits by being able to enter the commercial
software market while avoiding the high cost of commercial
distribution.
This concept helps many independent authors and small companies
that otherwise would be discouraged from developing and promoting
their ideas. It can only work with your support. If you obtain a
user supported program from a friend and are still using it after
a few weeks, then it is obviously worth something to you, and a
contribution should be sent.
